Workshops

Alex has nine years experience working as a community artist, workshop leader, trainer and project manager working with arts and cultural organisations in education and community settings.  She places the needs and success criteria of the client at the centre of the planning and delivery process. Areas of specialism include creative learning, visual arts workshops using drawing, painting and sculpture, bespoke inset training for teachers. Recent examples of work include:

My Creative School 2016-17, an innovative creative learning programme funded by the Paul Hamlyn Association and managed by A New Direction. Design of new learning materials and delivery of creative workshops. Collaboration with six educational specialists and three schools.

The Funky Pie Company working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties to help them achieve Arts Award (since 2014)

Trainer for Kingsmead and Gayhurst Primary schools to promote staff learning, creativity, self-awareness and resilience (2016)

Lead artist for Encounter, a research and development project funded by Arts Council England managed by HertsCreation in partnership with Watford Museum exploring sculpture and wellbeing with vulnerable young people, 2015.

Artist working on Arts for Change, with Watford Palace Theatre and participating schools to use the arts as a tool to discuss mental health (2015)

Artist working with NimbleFish and Goose Green Primary School to develop a visual arts inspired curriculum and final exhibition (2015)
